Electrical Short Causes Fire at Pulogadung Industrial Area

Electrical short circuit is allegedly caused fire on a factory of household cleanliness and health equipment on Jalan Pulobuaran 3, Block G No 6 Pulogadung Industrial Area, Jatinegara Urban Village, Cakung, East Jakarta, Thursday (10/17) at 10:32 PM.

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Operation Section Head, Abdul Wahid said the factory was already closed when fire occurred from the inside of the building.

"Electrical short circuit created sparks then burned pile of cardboard," he said, Friday (10/18).

He added that security personnel of the factory tried to extinguish the fire with light extinguisher, but it did not work. Then they requested firefighter personnel at Pulogadung Industrial Area Fire Handling Post.

Wahid continued his side deployed 16 firetrucks with 80 personnel to extinguish the fire.

"Fire was finally extinguished fully at 12:25 AM," he continued.

There is no victims caused by the incident. Now the area is sealed for further investigation.

"The case is being handled by Cakung Sector Police," he stated.
